Miss World, Manushi Chhillar, touched down in Brazil for her first visit to South America.
She was welcomed at the airport by a special delegation, including Miss World's license holder in Brazil, Henrique Fontes, and 2017 Miss World Brazil BWAP co-winner and third runner-up, Daniele Arruda.
The team already departed to the Bandeirantes Palace where Chhillar had the honor of being received for a special welcome breakfast by the First Lady of the State of Sao Paulo, Lucia Franca. The First Lady commended Chhillar for the incredible work she has been doing during her reign and stated that it was a pleasure to welcome her to Brazil on behalf of the people of her state and the country. Miss World made the first donation to a clothes drive aimed at assisting those in need in the state.
Following the visit to the First Lady, the reigning Miss World was interviewed by Brazilian media and was taken to experience some true Brazilian culture by visiting the central market in Sao Paulo. She was also introduced to Mr World Brazil 2018 (and Mr Brazil 2016), Carlos Franco. The next stop on her 6 day tour will be the state of Brasilia.
