Miss Russia 2018 Crowned

18 year old Yuliya Polyachihina from the Chuvash Republic defeated 49 other contestants to win the title of Miss Russia 2018 last night. She told journalists that she was "insanely happy' yet had not about what she would do with US$50,000 and new car she had won. 

The journalism students is expected to represent her country at Miss World and/or Miss Universe 2018 depending on the dates of the two competitions. Violetta Tyurkina finished in second place and might be called upon to represent her country at one of the two major contests should the winner be unable to compete. Natalya Stroeva was named the second runner-up. 

PNN Opinion: There's no denying that the winner is beautiful, however, we do feel that there were stronger contestants. She is not as strong as last year's winner but we are sure that an amazing transformation lies ahead for her.
