No Miss Universe Pageant For 2014

 

63rd Edition of Miss Universe will happen in January.  It is the first time since 1952 that the competition skips a year.

Luigi Boria, Mayor of the City of Doral, confirmed on Friday September 12th that the 64th Miss Universe Pageant will take place in Doral (Miami).  The announcement had the presence of Miss Universe Organization President Paula Shugart, and the reigning titleholder Gabriela Isler, Miss Universe 2013/2014 from Venezuela.

Dominican Republic wins Miss United Continents 2014

The city of Guayaquil served as host for the second edition of Miss United Continents. Thirty-one candidates competed and the winner was Miss Dominican Republic, Geisha Montes de Oca, 27 years old, from Santo Domingo. Geisha won USD 10,000 in cash, a crown worth USD 20,000, among other gifts, such as a trip to the Galapago Islands in company of the 1st and 2nd runner-ups.

Miss Grand International 2014: Special Awards

The Miss Grand International Organization officially announced the prizes for the winners, runner-ups and special awards that will be handed during the 2014 edition.

• Winner: Cash Prize, USD 40,000 and a furnished apartment for her year’s stay in Bangkok
• 1st Runner-up: USD 10000
• 2nd Runner-up: USD 5000
• 3rd Runner-up: USD 2500
• 4th Runner-up: USD 1500

Miss Grand International 2014 kicks off

The second edition of Miss Grand International will take place on Tuesday, October 7th, at the Indoor Stadium Huamark in Bangkok.  Following up their successful debut last year, Thailand is preparing to welcome more than 80 beauties from around the planet to compete for a whooping cash prize of USD 40,000 and an apartment in Bangkok for the titleholder’s year of reign.

As this year’s plans are being finalized, it was revealed that the beauties will have the opportunity to visit Sukhothai Kingdom, the first capital of Thailand.

The competition is scheduled to start in mid-September, so stay tuned for more updates and tidbits from the competition!

Miss World 2005 gets married in Iceland

Unnur Birna, the third woman from Iceland to be crowned Miss World, back in 2005, recently got married in the beautiful countryside of Iceland.

Yirgalem Hadish Selected As Miss World Ethiopia 2014

Yirgalem Hadish was selected by a panel of celebrity judges and public vote on Facebook to represent Ethiopia in the upcoming Miss World finals to be held in London on December 14th.

 

She is 23 years old and is 1.76cm.

Kimberly Castillo Is Miss Dominican Republic Universe 2014

25-year old Kimberly Castillo, who represented Higuey, was crowned Miss Dominican Republic Universe 2014 during the annual gala held at the National Theater Eduardo Brito.

Standing 178 cm in height, Kimberly will now represent the Dominican Rep. at the Miss Universe 2014 pageant in a date and place still to be announced.

Santiago (Aletxa Mueses), Dominican Community in Mexico (Dhio Moreno), Distrito Nacioonal (Marimar Lopez) and Punta Cana (Analiz de la Cruz) completed the finalists. 

Reigning Miss Universe Gabriela Isler was a special guest at the gala.

Miss Trinidad & Tobago Universe 2014

24-year old Jevon King (center) was crowned Miss Trinidad & Tobago 2014 during an event held in the Hilton Trinidad in Port of Spain on August 10th. 

She will represent the world-famous islands in the Miss Universe 2014 pageant in a date and venue to be announced soon.

Miss Bermuda 2014 Crowned

The new Miss Bermuda is Miss Sandys, Lilian Lightbourne. She is 24 year old and will represent Bermuda at Miss World 2014 in London, England on December 14, 2014. Siarah Minors was the first runner-up and the second runner-up was Khianda Pearman-Watson.

Greece picks delegates for Miss Universe and Miss World 2014

The organizers of the Miss Greece Pageant recently picked their representatives for Miss World and Miss Universe 2014 during a casting as the decision was made not to stage the pageant this year.

Ismini Dafopoulou (22) will represent Greece at Miss Universe 2014 and Eleni Kokkinou (20) will represent her country at Miss World 2014.

Both are cute but not spectacular. It could go either way for both of them.

Miss United States 2014 to represent her country in Miss World

Miss United States 2014, Elizabeth Safrit of North Carolina, will be her country’s representative in Miss World 2014.
Miss United States, a beauty contest headquarted in Washington DC, starts working with MWO this year. As a matter of fact, Miss World Megan Young was present at the event, which took place in DC
.

In the last decade or so, the American representative in Miss World had been selected by a modeling agency. It’s without a doubt an important stepstone for the pageant in the US.

The new Miss United States has been involved with charity activities for quite a while, which makes her the perfect candidate to represent her country in the world’s number 1 beauty competition.

Miss World will happen on December 14th, in London, England.

Maeya Nonthawan Thongleng Crowned Miss Thailand World 2014

A Singer, Model and Golfer will represent Thailand in Miss World 2014.

20-year old Maeya Nonthawan Thongleng, a singer and model, and also a professional golfer, was crowned Miss Thailand World during the annual event held in Bangkok on June 21st.

Standing 1.78 m tall, the beauty will now represent Thailand at the Miss World 2014 finals to be held in London in December.

The runner-ups were Venus Nanthachai and Crattrika Sittiporn.

Silvia Cataldi, Volleyball Player Crowned Miss World Italy 2014

Professional Volleyball Player will wear Italy’s colors at the Miss World contest in December.

Silvia Cataldi (24), a professional volleyball player of the Itaian second division, was crowned Miss Mondo Italia (World Italy) during the annual competition held in Bleu Salento. 

50 beautiful contestants took part in the gala.

 

Standing 1.81 m tall, Silvia – who succeeds Sarah Baderna – will participate in the Miss World 2014 finals to be held in London, England, on December 14th.

MISS INTERNATIONAL 2014 TO BE HELD TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 11th IN TOKYO, JAPAN

The 54th edition of the traditional contest will be held once again in Japan.

The Kokusai Bunka Kyokai, organizers of the Miss International beauty pageant since 1971, announced that this year’s edition of the contest will take place in the Hiten Main Banquet Hall of the Hiten Grand Prince Hotel New Takanawa in Tokyo (Japan) on Tuesday, November 11th.

70 candidates from all over the globe will arrive in Japan on October 27th to attend the schedule of traditional activities such as the election of Miss Photogenic, Press Presentation and the Miss International Forum, among others.

The Hiten Banquet Hall offers the latest in technology and can accomodate up to 5,000 people.  The pageant will have a live webcast that will show the coronation of a new Miss International.  

The reigning titleholder is Philippines’  Bea Rose Santiago.

The Miss International competition belongs to the “Grand Slam of Beauty Pageants” established by Global Beauties in 1998, due to its duration and tradition.  Its current status is of “Grand Prix”.

Miss England 2014 is Carina Tyrell

 Carina Tyrell, a 24 year old beauty from Cambridge, won the coveted Miss England 2014 title. She will become the host delegate in the upcoming Miss World 2014 contest.

The finals night was held June 16 in Torquay – a seaside town in Devon which is also known as the English Riviera. Other winners are Holly Desai who finished second and Mary-Kate McKay who finished third.

Grace Levy wins Miss Universe Great Britain 2014

24 year old Grace Levy was crowned Miss Universe Great Britain 2014 in Cardiff last night. She stands 1.8m tall and will represent Great Britain at this year's Miss Universe Pageant. The first runner-up was Anna Burdzy and the second runner-up was Sophie Loudon. The top 5 were completed by Sara Pender and Amy Townsend.

She's pretty but they struck it lucky with Amy Willerton last year. This girl will have to work very hard and be very determined if she wants to place at Universe.

Nontawan Thongleng (22) Crowned Miss Thailand World 2014

Nontawan Thongleng (22) defeated 27 other beauties to be named Miss World Thailand 2014 in Bangkok last night. Thongleng stands 1.75m tall and will represent Thailand at this year's Miss World Pageant on December 14 in London, England. Thongleng won several of the challenge events including the Talent and Top Model awards.

Margaret Murray Wins Miss Sierra Leone 2014

 
Margaret Murray won the Miss Sierra Leone 2014 crown in a pageant held in June 14 at the capital city of Freetown. Margaret represented the Bo District in the finals. She will now represent Sierra Leone at the Miss World 2014 pageant which will be held in London later this year..

VIDEO: Thabiso Phiri, 22, Crowned Miss Zimbabwe

University of Zimbabwe law student Thabiso Phiri, 22, was crowned Miss Zimbabwe at a function held at Mabvazuva Village (formerly Caravan Park) in Msasa, Harare.

Tendai Hunda was crowned first princess while Letwin Tatenda Chinomona was the second princess.
Thabiso will drive away a Chevrolet Cruze and pocket a cash prize in the region of $30 000. The first and second princesses will each drive away Spark Lite vehicles and also receive cash prizes.

Nigeria's Emmanuel Ifeanyi IkubeseComes 2nd At 2014 Mr. World Contest

Nicklas Pedersen, Mr Denmark, is Mr World 2014! With a fantastic presentation and the best speech, Denmark beat the odds and became a deserving winner. In 2nd place came Mr Nigeria, the biggest surprise of this year´s pageant, while Mexico, the number 1 favorite, placed 3rd.

Completing the Top 10, were the representatives of Netherlands, Curacao, Ukraine, Moldova, England, Puerto Rico, and India.

The early elimination of great delegates such as Argentina and Philippines, came as a shock.

23-year old Yomatzy Hazlewood De la Rosa crowned Miss Panama 2014

23-year old Yomatzy Hazlewood De la Rosa was crowned Miss Panama 2014 during the annual event at the RIU Hotel in Panama City on June 12th.  Yomatzy, who represented the province of Darien, stands 1.73 m in height and will represent the country in the 2014 Miss Universe pageant.  She is the 3rd black woman to win the Miss Panama title in the pageant’s 63 year history, and the 4th to represent Panama in Miss Universe.

Miss Cote d’Ivoire 2014

Jennifer Kolo Yeo, is Miss Cote d’Ivoire 2014 and her country’s representative in Miss World 2014, in London, on November 14. She’s 18 years old and 1.80 m-tall.

Samira Traboulsi placed 2nd and Ananttys Kouame, 3rd.

The city of Abidjan hosted the event.

Shyanne Azzopardi Ccrowned Miss Gibraltar 2014

Shyanne Azzopardi who has been crowned Miss Gibraltar 2014, won 5000 pounds and will represent Gibraltar in Miss World 2014, in London, on December 14th. The runner-up, Kristy Torres, is expected to compete in Miss International 2014, in Japan.

Miss Tourism Nigeria 2014, Collete Nwadike Appointed SA On Tourism To Governor Of Anambra State

Less than three weeks after emerging the new Miss Tourism Nigeria 2014, Collette Nwadike has been appointed as the new Special Assistant on Tourism to Anambra State governor, Dr. Willie Obiano.

The queen got the appointment when she paid a courtesy visit to the governor on June 9th. Collete is from Ngodo, Awka South LGA of Anambra State.

Mr World 2014 candidates spends the day with the Royal Yachting Association

The sun was out  as the Mr World 2014 contestants took to the seas under the expert supervision of the International Sailing School, one of the UK’s premier sailing organizations.

Each of the contestants was marked individually as well as a group based on their ability, performance and skill on the sea as they raced against each other on the best sailing vessels Devon has to offer.

After a long day riding the waves of Torquay, Mr Bahamas proved to be the survivor of the sea winning the prestigious title of ‘High Sea: Captain of the seas’.

Speaking on his win, Mr Bahamas said he was “extremely elated” to have won the sailing contest but also very happy to share such an incredible experience with his fellow team mates and contestants.

Miss Universe Australia 2014 Is Tegan Martin

TEN years after Jennifer Hawkins was crowned Miss Universe, Newcastle will have another contestant in the international contest.

Tegan Martin, 21, was named Miss Universe Australia in Melbourne on Friday night, beating out 30 other girls.

Anna Andres, 20, Is The New Miss Ukraine Universe 2014

Ten finalists competed in Miss Ukraine Universe 2014, which happened as a closed and rather small event due to the current political and economic situation the country is facing. Anna Andres, 20, from Lviv, was the winner. 

She will represent Ukraine in Miss Universe 2014 on the second semester.

Rafieya Asieya Husain Is The New Miss World Guyana 2014

Rafieya Asieya Husain, 21, confirmed her favoritism and was crowned Miss World Guyana 2014 in Georgetown. Atisha Gaskill placed 2nd and Denicia Willians was 3rd.

Guyana enjoyed much success in Miss World in the late 1960′s and early 1970′s, but haven’t had a semi-finalist ever since. Can Rafieya take Guyana back to the old good times?? Many pageant oservers believe so…

22 Year Old Zoé Trotman Crowned Miss Barbados World 2014

Miss Barbados World 2014 was elected and crowned in the presense of Megan Young, the current Miss World. The winner was Zoé Trotman, 22, 1.78 m-tall, who will be competing in Miss World 2014, on December 9th, in London, England.

Shakela Bellamy was the 1s runner-up and Melanie Park was the 2nd runner-up.

Chanel Beckenlehner Wins Miss Universe Canada 2014

After several attempts, Chanel Beckenlehner was finally crowned Miss Universe Canada 2014 and will get prepared to compete in Miss Universe 2014, in December. The winner hails from Caledon, Ontario and attends the University of Toronto as a Political Science Specialist. 

The 1st Runner-up was Kesiah Papasin, Etobicoke, ON; 2nd Runner-up was Lauren Howe, Toronto, ON; 3rd Runner-up was Sarah Harrison, Halifax, NS; 4th Runner-up was Nicole Lacz, Milton, ON.

Christmas Spirit Invades Miss World: 2014 Finals Will Happen In London, In December!

It’s now official: Miss World’s 2014 finals will be hosted by London, England, in December, just like in the good old times! Over 130 countries are expected to be represented in the world’s number 1 beauty competition

.

Miss World 2014 starts on November 20th and the new titleholder will be crowned by Megan Young on December 14th.

There’s a chance that for the first time in history Miss World and Miss Universe will have a conflict of dates. There are rumors that Miss Universe 2014 will be crowned on December 9th, but nothing official has yet been announced
