MEET THE 51 MISS TOURISM NIGERIA [WORLD] 2014 DELEGATES

The 2014  Miss Tourism Nigeria [World], an international franchise owned by Qhue Concepts Group is here!

Organizers say the call for entries started in November last year. And now, following the selection of 51 final contestants, the 2^nd stage of the contest is about to begin.

All 51 contestants will undergo 15 days of intensive sms voting. The top 36 contestants with the highest votes will make it to the main contest; the MissTourism Camp.

Winner of the MissTourism pageant will go on to compete in the Miss Tourism World 2014 scheduled to take place in Thailand, and as customary, win mouth watering prizes.

Current Miss Tourism Nigeria [World}, Jennifer Igwegbe will be handing over on 17^th May at the epoch event in Lagos.

Megan Young is immortalized with limited edition collectible stamps

Recently Miss World Megan Young was all smiles as she attended the official launch of her limited edition collectible stamps, immortalized alongside many other greats in the world of philately.

Released about a month ago by The Philippine Postal Corporation, Megan is back in her country where she was presented with a framed set of the stamps for the official launch of the collectable items.

Meet Rolene Strauss, Miss South Africa 2014

A radiant Rolene Strauss has been crowned Miss South Africa 2014 at a glittering ceremony held at the Sun City Superbowl, presented by Sun International and sponsored by Cell C.

Runners-up are Ziphozakhe Zokufa from the Eastern Cape (1st Princess) and Limpopo’s Matlala Mokoko (2nd Princess).

 

An excited and overwhelmed Strauss – a medical student from Bloemfontein – said she was truly humbled and grateful to win the title and to be the first to wear the glittering new Palesa crown designed for the pageant. In her Miss South Africa acceptance speech Strauss said: “Oh, how I love South Africa! I can live, speak, learn and love freely. My dreams are developed and become reality here. Our country is my pride and my purpose has and will always lie within it.

Israel’s Miss World becomes champion for rape victims worldwide

When 18-year-old Israeli beauty queen Linor Abargil was crowned Miss World in 1998, the tears streaming down her cheeks appeared to be the overwhelming joy of a young woman fulfilling a dream. Few knew the painful truth behind them — that just six weeks earlier she had been raped at knife point.

 

Baton Rouge, Louisiana to host 2014 Miss USA Pageant

Donald Trump has announced on Thursday that Baton Rouge will host this year’s Miss USA competition.

The 67-year-old entrepreneur owns the Miss Universe Organization, and spoke on behalf of the competition on Today.

“[Baton Rouge is] just a place that really wanted us,” Trump said. “We had about twelve places that were fighting for the rights, and we just decided [Baton Rouge is] sort of the home of pageantry, it’s sort of the home of the whole beauty thing.”

“They’re terrific people, and they’re going to put on a great show,” he continued. “Usually we got to Las Vegas… It’s great, but we thought we’d move it.”
