23-year old Yomatzy Hazlewood De la Rosa crowned Miss Panama 2014

23-year old Yomatzy Hazlewood De la Rosa was crowned Miss Panama 2014 during the annual event at the RIU Hotel in Panama City on June 12th.  Yomatzy, who represented the province of Darien, stands 1.73 m in height and will represent the country in the 2014 Miss Universe pageant.  She is the 3rd black woman to win the Miss Panama title in the pageant’s 63 year history, and the 4th to represent Panama in Miss Universe.


The 1st runner-up was Miss Las Tablas (Stephanie Gonzalez, R) who will travel to Germany to compete in Miss Intercontinental 2014; 2nd runner-up was Miss Panama Oeste (Carmen Jaramillo, L) who was crowned as Miss Latinoamericana del Mundo.

The remaining finalists were Miss Santiago (Leydili Caballero, 4th place), Miss Ocu (Elida Navarro, 5th place) and Miss Chame (Nicole Pinto, 6th place).

Miss Portobelo (Keisy Amaya) was chosen Miss Photogenic.

Karina Gonzalez (Nuestra Belleza Mexico 2012), Hector Joaquin Colon (Puerto Rican missologist, blogger and presenter) and Stephanie Vander Werf (Miss Panama 2012) were among the judges.
